Valentines Day
Celebration of Love or
A Commercial Gimmick?

Most of you already know Valentines Day is celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. It is mostly associated with Romantic Love. In the English-speaking countries, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending- love notes, flowers, chocolates etc.

There are many who cherish this day & there are also many who see it as a bubble. Their take is like this- "Love for your partner should remain always ...everyday...7 days a week...365 days a year! Why just pick a day and name it Valentine's day to celebrate Love Life? Isn't it just another trick of those Big Companies to exploit our emotions..?"

With an entire industry trying to capitalize on this day on gift items (from cards, candles, chocolates, jewelry, perfumes etc etc etc) this is a very legitimate suspicion and I can totally understand where they coming from.

I too believe that Love should be cherished everyday, not just a day in a year! There are some people who are not very accustomed to express their love verbally or even surprising their partner with a lovely romantic gift. A valentines day can bring some sparkle in their romanticism.

Read My Aunt's story how just a lack of this romantic expression can lead to a feeling of emptiness-

Here is My Aunt's Story

My Aunt (my Mom's sis) was happily married with two amazing kids. My uncle a rich man and a very responsible Husband. It seemed like she had everything. But once she was telling me... I would be more happier if he'd brought me a Red Rose than giving me expensive jewelry!

Suddenly I realized it's not about having best expensive things, beautiful kids and even devoted partner! Often time we need that romantic expressions, that verbal affirmation from our partner more than anything. So Valentines Day can be just an excuse to tell your partner..."I Love You"!

My Love Story

I know, you are now curious about My Love Story... I do have a very interesting story to tell you guys.

I was in London, UK. It was the beginning of year 2006, I sent an email to this Man (he is now my husband) for my Business purpose. He was in Canada. I didn't meet him before but I knew him through my elder brother (yes, he's my elder bro's friend:)

This Guy wasn't interested in Business but He kept calling me and we had our little chat. After a while I've found myself chatting with him online almost everyday...! I started liking Him. He was a good looking guy. So that was a Turn ON for me and he was a very gentle, nice & romantic person too. He proposed to me. I was already in love with him. So the journey began.

Our entire dating was online — it went for a year. Then we've decided to get married. I went back to Bangladesh (my home country) and he flew from Canada too. We got married in November 30, 2007 and many of you might find it SHOCKING that we have met personally just 25 days before we got married! That is Brave, isn't it?

Now it's little over 2 years we have been married and I can not tell you guys how blessed I feel having him in my life! Yes we both are very Happy & still very much in love.

This is like one of those fairy tale story ending..."they all lived happily ever after". Well I don't know what our future holds but we are truly happy together.

We both tell each other that universal love line "I Love You" often and YES we do celebrate Valentines Day too! So even though you love your partner and express it everyday it's still sweet to celebrate Valentines day together!

Enjoy Valentines Day with your loved one.
